1.Hi!! can you please introduce yourself and everybody else in the band, and what each one does ?
Hi everybody there, here is Pigsty – grind core band from Czech republic. I’m Bormann and I play guitar and have some vocals. Next members of Pigsty are drummer Otyn, singer Topi and bassist Ubina, who sings sometimes like me. In this line up we play about two years.Music doesn’t sustain us like in other grind core bands, so Otyn is tradesman, Topi is storekeeper, Ubina is trainman and I’m IT specialist
2.Recetly Pigsty release "Pigs are back",i only heard the mp3 on the site and i gotta say its amazing , the album also got positive reviews, any comments to that ? how does that make you feel getting such respose from the 2nd full length album ?
We have very good feeling of this. We used new technologies and made our music more coloured. We have there three our friends on vocals: Puty (Contrastic, F.S.F.I.), Killy (Melancholy Pessimism) and 10 (Dark Gamballe). Some people was disapointed by Quadamage part and blamed us, that we use nu-metal riffs and told some shits about it, but we foreseed it. People on our gigs are making hell under stage on new songs and there we have our first videoclip for 2nd song – T.U.P.+M=T.E.O.E. and people can download it from our website or see on our music TV in metal oriented programme Madhouse.
3.How often does pigsty jam ? does it often conflict and cause problems with your daily life ?
Oh…It is our big problem, cause Ubina live in other peace of our republic and his way to us is about 6 hours. It is lucky, that he works on railway, so he has free tickets. Our another problem is that we all (except Otyn) are working on shifts – changing early, late and night. So, we have a jam with all members onetime per month. We are on jam mostly only two – Otyn and me. We have more gigs than jams recently.
4.Czech Rep. has been known to host the great fest "Obscene Extreme" , could you tell us more about grindcore shows and bands in from your country.
I think, that we have one of the best grindcore scene. There are many very original bands with characteric style. Our bands are opened to experiment too…more than bands in other countries I think. If I can recommend you, check Ingrowing, Cerebral Turbulency, Aliention Mental or Four Seats For Invalides. Obscene Extreme is great fest with magic atmosphere. There are more festivals in our republic like Brutal Assault, but there are more kinds of metal and many small actions with orientation on extreme metal. But the best are summer outdoor actions.
5.Can you guys tell me what you find fascinating about pigs?
Our music is not about normal pigs, but about Universe pigs. But for more I reccomend you read our lyrics to understand it more well.
6.What would you say relates humans to pigs ?
Listen our music and read our lyrics and you will find all answers .To tell the truth, I’m not sure, what you think by this question….
7.Alot of people say that you cover for RATM's "Bulls on Parade" was a parody to make fun of the band and not serious, what would you say about that ?
Ohhhh…that’s first time, that I hear it. It was normal cover, but in our way. I have to say, that we like RATM very much and Tom Morello was one of my guitar hero. It was not parody never.
8.Can you tell me about your equipment and guitar tunings ?
I use Washburn guitar, guitar multieffect BOSS ME 10, home upgraded amplifer QSA 400 without corrections. All these things was used to record „Pigs are back“. With studio arangement of course. We are tunned down to B. Ubina uses Ibanez bass.
9.Any funny incident ever happened to you guys when playing live ?
I don’t know if was funny, but in one gig in one small pub, where was perfect mood, we jumped on stage so much, that Ubina beated Topi by his bass and Topi has injured head. There was some blood on stage, but everything was OK.Onetime some drunken guy climbed on stage and started striptease.
